Back in 2024, run clubs were absolutely popping off. Everyone was ditching their COVID couch potato era for compression shorts and the latest Hoka’s.
Organisers transformed a sweaty jog into a social event, with the finish line often being trendy cafés where coffee and community was enjoyed.
As run clubs hit their cultural peak, the narrative got spicy. Online discourse joked that their popularity was less about PBs and more about scouting romantic prospects.
Some clubs saw an opportunity and ran with it, literally. They started themed runs, getting runners to color-code their fits based on relationship status: black for “single and ready to mingle,” coloured for “taken.”
By the end of it, run clubs weren’t just a workout. They were a chaotic, beautiful mashup of sweat, caffeine, and good convos
With all that in mind.
Are we still doing: Run Clubs?
